Allow me to present Vlotkamp, one of my favorite accommodation concepts that captured my heart from the very beginning is Vlotkamp. This is a remarkable camping adventure that pushes the boundaries of outdoor accommodation to new heights. Prepare to be captivated by this unique concept that combines camping with the serenity of floating on a raft. Just imagine yourself sleeping under the stars, and waking up to the gentle sounds of nature in the tranquil beauty of a lake, where you’ll discover the allure of staying in a beautifully designed tent. Vlotkamp combines the thrill of adventure with the comfort of camping, creating unforgettable memories for those who seek a one-of-a-kind experience.

About Vlotkamp

Somewhere within the scenic West Flemish Polders at Domein Polderwind between Bruges and the North Sea, you’ll discover a hidden gem called Vlotkamp. This extraordinary concept, born from the imaginative minds of Tobias and Kika, the original creators of the treehouses in Boomkamp and Ryckevelde, takes the essence of camping to astonishing new heights. Inspired during their adventures in the Pyrenees, they transformed their vision into a captivating reality: camping in exquisite tents perched on rafts, peacefully floating atop a serene lake, accessible only by canoe. One of the few concepts in life that even looks better than it sounds!

What sets Vlotkamp apart is the ingenious design of tents built on rafts. These unique floating abodes, elegantly perched atop the water’s surface, provide an exquisite blend of comfort and immersion in the natural surroundings. To reach these enchanting tents, one must embark on a canoe journey, where the beauty of the water becomes an integral part of your camping adventure, creating an extraordinary environment to unwind and reconnect with nature.

Thoughtfully engineered, each tent presents a warm and inviting interior, complemented by a balcony offering breathtaking views across the serene lake. Moreover, each raft bears the name of a fish species found in the lake, adding to the unique charm of the experience. Whether you’re in search of a romantic escape or an adventurous camping trip with your family, Vlotkamp caters to your desires. If you prefer to keep your feet on solid ground, there is also an option to rent a raft on the shore of the lake. Every aspect has been carefully thought out to ensure an unforgettable retreat.

While the self-check-in process at Vlotkamp may mean you won’t see the hosts in person, it’s worth mentioning that their friendly and professional demeanor shines through in their communication. Their attentiveness and warmth add an extra layer of appeal to your stay at Vlotkamp.

With convenient proximity to both Bruges and the North Sea, you have the best of both worlds at your fingertips. You can immerse yourself in the charm of Bruges, wandering along its cobblestone streets, admiring its historic architecture, and indulging in its renowned culinary scene. Alternatively, you can embark on a picturesque bicycle ride through the polders, heading towards the beach for a refreshing swim, knowing that a tranquil haven awaits your return. The rafts at Vlotkamp offer a truly unique and immersive experience, where you can reconnect with nature, rejuvenate your spirit, and create lasting memories.
